Rolled home last night. Up the excellent I87 from Scotch Plains. No sign of snow on the ground until Albany and none blown onto the road until Saranac Lake. Picked up supplies for breakfast tomorrow, stopped at the Duty Free, explained ourselves to Canada Customs and arrived. Unloaded the car and discovered that the furnace which had happily kept the house at 18C during our absence, refused to improve on that. After some perfunctory fiddling, called the Service Guy who came over and cleaned something called the Flame Detector. All fixed.
Then into our own beds for the night. Aaah!
