Canary Valentine’s

Reggie organised a romantic sea-cruise for Valentine’s Day. We were picked up at the hotel by our Camel Carlos guide and driven to the nearest excursion collection point in nearby Mas Palomas. From there a modern coach took us to Puerto Rico where we boarded a large catamaran for the cruise. We were supposed to be seeking dolphins along with three other tour boats, but apparently no one told the dolphins. After a lovely, dolphin-free sea-cruise, we stopped in a cliff-sheltered cove for a Paella lunch, banana-boat rides and jet skiing. A few hardy Germans went swimming but admitted that the Atlantic water was cold.

Then a drift back along the scenic coast, with expensive-looking villages and resorts cascading down the hills to the sea’s edge and to Puerto Rico where our coach waited to bring us home. Lovely 25C day.
