Up early and on the road. Drove to Volterra to see the alabaster carvers, then on to San Gimigianni, the city of towers. Lunch during a brief shower then an inadvertant bus tour through the crowded streets when we got on the shuttle bus one stop after our parking lot and went full circle to get back to the car. Tried for one more village in the Chianti region, but the rain started in earnest so we turned back for home through miles of twisty road to the Autostrade that skirts Florence and on to Altopascio. Picked up needed supplies, stopped for supper and got home 9-ish.
