Tidbits

French drivers are surprisingly polite, patient and law-abiding.

Autoroute speed limit is 130 KPH

Every village has a church that puts most of our cathedrals to shame

Paris garbage cans seem to be designed to be explosion proof (They won't add shrapnel).

There are awesome monuments you never heard of.

Le Petit Arc du Carousel

Everything is expensive.  Except wine.  And cheese.

Two croissants, two coffees $22

Public transit is clean, fast and economical.  Expect to walk a lot anyway.

There are beware of pickpocket signs in the Louvre, Metro, churches and elevators.  For a reason.

Food is good except for beef which can be extremely variable.
