More Snippets From Lamanai

After a sweaty walk into town for fresh tropical fruit this morning, we repaired to the cottage just before a refreshing rain began to fall.  I decided to take advantage of the enforced idleness to throw a few more pics at the Blog.

Laman-aiin, the Mayan name means "Submerged Crocodile".  The modern name Lamanai, bestowed by the early Spanish Conquistadores, means "Submerged Insect".  Not nearly as imposing.

Forest tree with curious fruiting strategy.  Turns out its Chocolate!
