Sunday in Perpignan

15th century gate to the city.

View from the top of the keep, after climbing 140 spiral steps of worn stone. The Pyrenees go all the way from the Atlantic, right down to the water at the Med. At breakfast in our B&B this morning, met two sinewy British young ladies who'd just cycled all the way through the mountains from the Atlantic and were finishing up their vacation at the Med. The trip took them 10 days. Having just motored over part of their route yesterday, I admired their fitness!

Lunch at the Cafe du Cinema on the square; Moules Mariniere, salad, fries, beer and coke: 33 Euros. Bread and cheese tonight!

Weather so far has been hot, 29C today and projected the same for the rest of the week.

Off to Nimes tomorrow, stay tuned.

  1. Merci pour les belles photos. Looks like you are not missing a beat!! That's great. Some of your pictures, especially the Pyrennes and Carcasonne ones are bringing back great memories. Belated birhday wishes to Paul. Continue to enjoy the moments and the WINE.
    Take care. Maryelle and Conrad
